One thing to be said about this company is that they make a high quality product, but they also attach that product with a high price. Their products may deserve the price, however, this may push some consumers away in the end. Their elliptical machines have made a well-deserved profit, but they may have become too greedy with their treadmills. Their treadmills have declined in sales slightly, but the company is still going strong.
Buying a Precor treadmill is not a bad bargain. If you’re looking for a treadmill that has a natural and smooth feel, then these are perfect for you. This is exactly what they were trying to create. They designed the treadmill to follow the natural ergonomics of the body, so while you take each step, the treadmill responds naturally. Their innovative design Footplant Technology will pay attention to the acceleration and deceleration of each foot and it will automatically adjust the motor speed up to 100 times per second to accommodate changes in your stride.
As mentioned above, the Precor treadmills do run rather pricey, around $3000 – $5000, with a few exceptions of below $2000. I would say those prices are ridiculous considering the options in the treadmill industry, but Precor does offer a great warranty. That can honestly make or break a decision for some people. If you spend that much money on a treadmill and there is a weak warranty, then you have made a huge mistake, but if the warranty is decent enough, I’d say you’ve made a pretty good deal. Precor offers lifetime warranties on their frames and welds, 10 years on parts, and one year on labor. This is a pretty decent warranty and it may ultimately make your decision on the Precor treadmills.
