Spirit logoSpirit Fitness built their first fitness equipment product in 1983. A few years ago, they were purchased by Dyaco, a company that originates from Taiwan. At first, Spirit Fitness struggled because of the quality in their machines, however, they are starting to figure it back out and now they are known for making reliable and durable equipment.

These machines will last a lifetime, that’s certain, however they lack in the feature department. They just do not offer anything outstanding that sets them apart from any other basic treadmill. They have the basic cooling fan and mp3 ports to keep the user entertained, but that’s about it.

The one thing that does set these treadmills apart from the rest is the tremendous warranty. You do not find many warranties like this one. They offer a lifetime warranty on the frame, motor, and deck. Then they offer between 5-10 years on parts, and then the average 1 year for labor. You do not see many treadmills that will offer over 5 years for parts. They must be pretty confident in their reliable machines.

Another great thing about Spirit treadmills is the the components that make the treadmill so reliable. They have a minimum 2.5″ roller, which will increase the life of the belt, roller, bearings and motor. Their decks are usually about 1″ thick, which seems like a problem for overweight users, however, most of the weight capacities on their machines say over 300 lbs. I don’t think the user needs to worry about it when the company has set a high user capacity, plus, even if you do burn out the motor because of your weight, you will have the satisfaction of knowing the part is guaranteed for life.

Spirit Fitness seems to be a pretty reliable fitness equipment manufacturer. They had their shaky past when Dyaco first purchased their company, however, they have moved up quickly and created quite the reputation for themselves. They produce strong, reliable machines. If you want to exercise in peace and comfort, a Spirit treadmill is perfect. If you are the type that needs many features to keep you entertained, I would suggest looking at another brand.
