The frame is a heavy-duty custom steel frame, and the motor HP is always large. Even their cheapest model comes with a 3.0 HP motor, while their most expensive treadmills can be up to 5.0 HP.
The one thing that keeps Star Trac treadmills from sky-rocketing is their outrageous prices. Anyone who wants to buy a treadmill will quickly turn away from this brand because of their prices. Their treadmills can be anywhere from $2000 – $9000 dollars. Ouch. If you’re willing to spend this much for a treadmill, it would not be that bad of investment. There are just so many treadmills out there than can compare pretty well with these and you could save quite a bit of money. These treadmills are just a bit over-the-top for an in-home treadmill.
