Hi All!
I'm a first time poster, shopping for a treadmill. Which treadmills should I be considering for my criteria?
My goals include the following:
Injury prevention
Fat loss
Long term health span
My goals DO NOT include training for any race or any athletic event. I want to use the treadmill purely for fat loss and long term health.
Must haves:
Ability to read heart rate from Apple Watch or arm band
Ability to automatically adjust speed/incline based on heart rate zones
Good shock absorption in the deck, for injury prevention. Horizon’s three-zone cushioning sounds appealing, but I’d like to learn about others as well.
3.0 - 4.0 HP motor
Belt should be at least 20” wide, 22”preferred
Belt should be at least 60” long
Max speed of at least 10mph
Max incline of 15%
Warranty: 5+ years on parts, 2+years on labor, 5+ years on motor
Don’t need, but ok to have:
A Touchscreen. It’s ok to have, but a low-tech interface is fine for me.
Adjustable deck cushioning. I’ll only ever use one setting.
Ability to decline. I likely won't use that.
More about me:
I'm 5'9", 60 years old, 180 lbs
I'll be the only user of the treadmill
I'll be using it 4-5 times per week
Thanks for your help, I look forward to hearing from you!
Best,
Bill
