Along with its compact size, the T 9.5 S can help protect your joints as you exercise. The built-in FlexSelect cushioning that comes with this treadmill can assist in reducing the impact of running or walking so that you are less likely to suffer from overuse injuries that are common among runners.
As with other NordicTrack treadmills, you also receive access to a free 30 day trial membership to iFit. While you don’t have to use your month membership, there are a lot of benefits to using it, namely the access to the iFit workout library. Conclusion
As one of our Best Compact Treadmills, the NordicTrack T 9.5 S treadmill is both compact and powerful, making it ideal for a runner who needs a strong treadmill but doesn’t have much room for one.
Do you happen to know the weight of this treadmill? I live in a small 3 level townhome and am considering it over the 1750 due primarily to size and weight and getting it up 2 stairwells into a spare open bedroom on my 3rd floor. I’m not sure a 300 lb 1750 would be a smart thing to put in a top floor bedroom of a 3rd story home. Also, how quiet would this treadmill be compared to the 1750? I would be a sole user and plan to use it 3-4 times per week and primarily at running at speeds of 6 mph for maybe 30 minutes. Would this be an ideal machine for my needs?
Pat,
The Nordictrack T9.5s treadmill weighs around 210 pounds, so it is roughly 100 pounds less than the 1750. Whether or not it would work on your third story depends on the construction of your home. If the home is older and you find that impact on upper floors causes cracks in the ceiling, then we definitely recommend a lower weight treadmill. The 1750 is a more solidly built machine but the 9.5s works well for the amount of running you plan to do. The 1750 is slightly quieter due to its heavier construction, but if you place the 9.5s on a treadmill mat or carpet that will help absorb some of the noise. Either treadmill is a good option. If you do purchase one of these treadmills, we recommend setting it up on the floor you plan to use it. Once it is assembled, it is very difficult to get up or down stairs and in or out of doorways. Good luck!

Good morning . What a brilliant resource . Thank you. Am looking for a thread mill for our apartment . Its on the 2nd floor . The floors are separated by concrete slabs ( does not get rid of noises as we still do hear neighbours talk and walk ). Its a 100 year old building . The room where the machine will be is above a tv room ( flat below ) and below a tv room/exercise room.. So not bed area . We will be using it for incline walking most . No running. Speed will be about 4 mph and incline 12. What I am worried about is impact noise / vibration. If for walking only , would this be ok. Will be placed on a 4cm thick mats, If not the T9.5, what other machine would you recommend . I looked at the new Pelaton thread but the noise I believe might be an issue .
Dev,
Thanks for your comment! Great question. We get a lot of inquiries about floor noise with treadmills. We do have a list of quietest treadmills here. Based on your intended usage, the Nordictrack T9.5 would be a fine option. You could also look at the Horizon T101 or the LifeSpan 5500i which are also quiet and comparably priced. Unfortunately, the Peloton Tread is one of the loudest treadmills we’ve tested. The motorized slat belt design makes it very noisy.
Regardless of which treadmill you use, walking produces significantly less noise than running. Hopefully you can find one that will work in your space and budget! Placing the treadmill on a mat helps reduce vibration as well. Good luck!
