The NordicTrack Vault is a strength training system that NordicTrack refers to as an “interactive home gym.” The Vault is a free-standing cabinet system with a 60” full-length mirror on the front and storage shelves inside. The “Complete” Vault includes an exercise mat, two yoga blocks, three resistance bands, three-loop bands, 5lb to 30lb dumbbells, 20lb, and 30lb kettlebells, and a towel – all of which fit inside the cabinet. The Vault “Standalone” does not include any of the accessories but otherwise is the same cabinet system with shelves on the inside and the mirror on the front. The Vault stands 72.65” high and is 24.5” wide. However it is only 14” deep, so you can place it in front of a wall and it doesn’t jut out into the room significantly. In this in-depth NordicTrack Vault review, I’ll highlight everything you need to know about this workout mirror.
The Vault is an impressive free-standing gym that allows users to see themselves and an iFit image reflected in the mirror. Like other fitness mirrors, this projects a video image on the screen while also reflecting the user. This way you can see yourself and correct your own form while working out – as well as see the iFit trainer. The Vault includes dual 3” speakers and has a 32” rotating HD touchscreen. It also includes iFit free for the first month.
The NordicTrack Vault Is Named One Of The Best Workout Mirrors Of 2024
The Vault is one of our top recommended workout mirrors on our best workout mirrors list. We like that it has a large touch screen built into the mirror and that it comes with included storage and equipment. We’ve rated the NordicTrack Vault with a 4.5 out of 5-star rating.
Why You Should Trust Our Review Of The NordicTrack Vault
We test all of the latest workout equipment. Fitness mirrors and smart gyms are extremely popular and beneficial for those who want a full home gym but don’t have the space. We believe working out should be accessible and fitness mirrors help to do just that. This kind of equipment also uses fitness content that features workouts led by instructors. Subscription fitness content is very popular among home fitness equipment and home fitness enthusiasts. We test and use a wide variety of content that is found on all kinds of machines. We’re also fitness instructors ourselves, so we know what it takes to create studio fitness classes.
We tested the Vault against some competitors like the ProForm Vue, Tempo Studio, and the Tonal. That way we can compare all of the features and performance of the Vault to these other solid fitness mirror options.
Our NordicTrack Vault Video Review
- It is enabled with iFit on the large 32” screen, so you can follow along with the instructor and watch your form in the reflection, simultaneously.
- The freestanding strength training system is space-conscious to provide a complete home gym in a stylish, compact machine.
- It is a standalone machine that doesn’t require a wall for it to be mounted.
- Looks like a regular mirror when you’re not using it.
- The inner cabinet holds all the weights so they are safely tucked inside, and out of sight when not in use.
- In order to use the touch screen, you must have a subscription to iFit, otherwise, the Vault just works as a mirror and storage locker for equipment.
- The included weights might not be enough tension for advanced and strong users.
- There is no AI form correction technology.
- Free Standing Fully Enclosed Strength Training System
- The Vault packs a lot in there! We’ve seen free-standing resistance systems and wall-mounted mirror designs, but the Vault kind of adds everything together into one compact but impressively functional design. The cabinet holds all your equipment while the screen projects the iFit workout and the mirror reflects your image.
- 22.5” x 61.5” Pivoting Reflective Mirror
- The mirror is the predominant feature of the Vault. While the cabinet tucks back behind to store your equipment, the mirror itself is the front panel. When not in use, this looks like a regular mirrored cabinet system. When you turn it on, the mirror lights up gently to reflect your image along with various workout metrics.
- 32” Rotating HD Touchscreen
- The whole mirror isn’t a screen – the screen itself is 32” and placed ideally for visibility. This way, you aren’t competing to see your image over the top of the iFit trainer. The screen/mirror combo makes it so you can see both at once.
- Includes 30-day Free Trial to iFit
- iFit provides all types of strength training, resistance training, HIIT, cardio as well as stretching and yoga on the Vault.
- Carbon Steel Frame and Freestanding Base
- The Vault has a solid base to keep it planted to the floor and weighs 258 lbs without weights. The addition of weights to the inside further increases the stability of the system.
- Footprint: 72.65” H x 24.25” W x 14” D
- The Vault only stands about as high as a standard treadmill and is just 24” wide – so this is not an overly large machine. The 14” depth doesn’t encroach much into your room.

In-depth Review of the NordicTrack Vault
iFit Subscription
The NordicTrack Vault uses iFit for its programming. iFit is an interactive fitness app that offers a wide variety of workouts. iFit is found on various equipment such as treadmills, exercise bikes, rowers, and even other fitness mirrors, like the ProForm Vue. Brands like NordicTrack, ProForm, and Matrix utilize iFit on their machines.
iFit’s library has over 16,000 classes that are filmed indoors and outdoors. When using the Vault, however, you don’t have complete access to all of iFit’s classes. Instead, the Vault gives you the choice to take mat classes in strength training, HIIT, cardio, yoga, pilates, as well as stretching and recovery, and some guided meditations. The majority of the classes are filmed indoors, but more and more outdoor classes are being added to the library, too.
You can schedule classes ahead of time and filter classes by numerous options to find which one you want to take. iFit on the Vault lets you do full-body training, as well as targeted training to work specific areas like your upper body, lower body, and core, individually.
Some classes involve using the equipment that comes with the Vault: Complete, while others just require your body and maybe a mat on the floor.
Something to keep in mind is that you do need a subscription to iFit in order to use the touch screen, otherwise the Vault serves as a mirror and equipment locker only. We highly recommend subscribing to iFit on the NordicTrack Vault. The instructors are engaging and they offer guidance and motivation when you follow along during your workout.
Interface
The NordicTrack Vault has a 32” touch screen that is built into the mirror. This is where you access iFit’s library and take classes. The graphics are very clear and it’s easy to see the instructor, no matter what setting they’re in during class. Navigating iFit’s library is easy on this screen. You can scroll through suggested workouts on the home page or use the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen.
You can see your estimated calories burned and duration at the top of the screen during the class. There’s also the option to hide this top bar as well as turn on/off the closed captions.
The speakers are located at the bottom of the mirror on the front, so they project at you while you work out. They’re clear and go plenty loud to hear the instructor and music. iFit uses Feed.FM which works as a radio. There are different genre stations each made up of a set playlist to choose from. This makes it so you can pick which station(s) you want to listen to during the workout since the music isn’t integrated into the class. You can adjust the master volume as well as choose to mute the instructor and/or music. The screen is also Bluetooth enabled to pair to headphones.
Construction Quality / Durability
The Vault is a very solid and stable piece of equipment, that can fit well in pretty much any home space.
Frame & Mirror
The Vault is a standalone machine that doesn’t need to be secured into a wall, unlike the Tonal. This makes it more suitable for a variety of spaces because you don’t have to worry about having a proper wall to support it. The Vault is supported by a wide metal base that keeps it from tipping over. The base is wider and deeper than the Vault itself so it keeps the fitness mirror planted to the floor.
The front of the Vault is a reflective mirror. This is where the touch screen is built-in and where you can watch yourself while you follow along with your iFit instructor. The mirror is larger than the actual interface at 61.5”. This helps to be able to see your entire reflection so you can adjust and monitor your form during workouts.
The mirror is also the door that opens to reveal the inside storage shelves where the equipment lives when you’re not using it. There’s a latch at the top of the Vault that locks the mirror in place in front of the storage shelves. When unlocked, the mirror can be adjusted multiple ways in order to see the screen and your reflection in the best way possible. It can also be used when the mirror door is locked.
When turned off, the mirror looks like a regular mirror, so the NordicTrack Vault is really stylish and will look good among furniture in your home. It can also be used as a standard mirror.
Storage/Locker
A really convenient component of the Vault is the storage inside of it. The inside is made up of metal and metal shelves to hold equipment like dumbbells, kettlebells, resistance bands, and a mat. Of course, the equipment that is included with the Vault: Complete fits perfectly, but you could use it to store your own equipment if you purchase the Vault: Standalone. You just need to be sure your own equipment fits properly. The Vault also comes with premium shelves and hanging shelves, so you can either set the equipment on the premium shelves or hang them with the other shelves. The Standalone Vault only comes with hanging shelves.
The included storage behind the mirror on the Vault allows you to keep your equipment in one, neat and tidy location, rather than scattered all over the floor around the fitness mirror. In comparison, the Tempo Studio also includes built-in storage, but when purchasing the largest package of equipment, the Tempo Studio takes up a bit more room than the NordicTrack Vault.
Included Equipment
The equipment that comes with the Vault: Complete is of nice quality. The full package includes 6 sets of dumbbells ranging from 5-30 lbs, 2 kettlebells that are 20 and 30 lbs each, 3 heavy resistance bands that are 20, 30, and 50 lbs, 3 smaller resistance bands ranging from light, medium, and heavy tensions, an exercise mat, 2 yoga blocks, and a microfiber towel.
Of course, these weights might not be enough for advanced lifters and stronger users, but for beginners and home workout enthusiasts, it gets the job done. As mentioned, you can also fill this fitness mirror with your own equipment, I just wouldn’t place too much heavier weights, than the ones included, on the shelves. All of the equipment is labeled with NordicTrack, so it coordinates and goes together well.
Functionality & Performance
Overall, the NordicTrack Vault is ideal for users who love taking trainer-led classes. It’s also great if you are looking to add some strength to your workout routine. The included equipment is enough to give most users a nice workout, but those looking to do more traditional strength training with heavy weights and powerlifting might want to look into another option. We do wish it had AI technology for form correction like the Tonal and Tempo. When correcting your form, it is up to you to notice by watching yourself in the mirror and fix when it’s incorrect.
As mentioned above, the Vault’s touch screen can only be used if you have a membership to iFit. Unfortunately, there aren’t any onboard workouts available without a subscription. Users could create their own workouts to do in front of the mirror, but when you purchase the Vault you are essentially signing up for ongoing subscription content. Our reviewers really like iFit and you can definitely get great workouts by using the programming.
One thing we did notice is that it is a little easier to see your reflection in the mirror when taking classes that are filmed in front of a black background that just feature the instructor. When the location is outdoors and the screen is brighter, it can be harder to watch your form in the mirror. This didn’t bother us, however. We love iFit’s outdoor classes, and we’re happy to see a variety of them on the Vault.
The NordicTrack Vault is heavy at 258 lbs (without equipment), so it feels really solid and securely holds the included equipment. It will most likely hold your own equipment in place, too. Moving the Vault can be difficult because it doesn’t have transportation wheels, so it’s best to keep it in a designated space for it to stay. We love how compact it is and how sleek it looks.
Warranty
NordicTrack backs the Vault with a 10-year frame warranty, 2-year parts warranty, and 1-year labor warranty. This is a pretty standard warranty package for NordicTrack. Set up is pretty simple we just recommend having two people assemble it.
Bottom Line Review: NordicTrack Vault:
The NordicTrack Vault is an excellent option if you’re looking for a home gym that takes up minimal space. It’s especially enticing if you love taking workouts led by instructors. The Vault uses iFit and requires a subscription to use the touch screen. When taking a workout, the front of the Vault will let you see the instructor on the screen, as well as your reflection in the mirror. This way you can keep an eye on your form and follow along with the trainer.
iFit offers indoor and outdoor mat classes on the Vault that will let you work your entire body and do targeted training. The included equipment will provide enough tension for most users, but advanced and strong lifters might find the included weight, underwhelming. The Vault is designed to look stylish in the home and to store fitness equipment when you’re not using it. If you’re looking for a compact standalone fitness mirror, the Vault from NordicTrack is a great option.
