If you are looking for a treadmill to support you through your running training, then the ProForm Pro 5000 treadmill is an excellent option. This heavy-duty treadmill is built to withstand intense workouts, whether you are doing speed training or going on an endurance run. Pair that with the responsive controls, and you have a treadmill that will carry you through your exercise routine for years to come.
Along with its durable build, the Pro 5000 comes with a good speed range that allows you to go from 0-12 MPH. Pair your speed with various incline levels to really push your fitness further, which you can do since this treadmill comes with the incline range to go from -3% to 15% without a problem. This treadmill is fast to change speed and incline, so you can quickly progress to the next stage of your workouts.
The quick responsiveness of the Pro 5000 treadmill is thanks to the powerful 3.75 CHP motor. With the commercial motor in this treadmill, you can enjoy smooth workouts whether you are walking or running. Even better, the Pro 5000 treadmill is still a very quiet treadmill to operate, so you can workout without worrying that you will disturb anyone unless you tend to make hard contact with the deck as you run.
Even if you are prone to striking the treadmill deck hard as you exercise, you have the protection of the ProShox cushioning. This cushioning comes built into all ProForm treadmills and will help protect you over the long term as you use this treadmill to advance your fitness, especially since running on hard surfaces like asphalt and concrete can lead to overuse injuries that are common among runners.
The Pro 5000 is packed with many more feature that makes it an excellent investment. To learn more about these features, feel free to read the rest of the ProForm Pro 5000 Treadmill Guru review.

- 30 Day Free Membership To iFit
Choosing to bring the Pro 5000 treadmill home can unlock a brand-new world of fitness for you to enjoy. This fitness revolution is due to the inclusion of a free month trial membership to iFit when you purchase the Pro 5000 treadmill.
Once you activate your free 30 day membership, you can access the extensive iFit workout library. In this fitness library, you can find thousands of exercise programs that can help you shake up your workout routine. These exercise programs can be simple Google Maps workouts that take you along a Google Maps route, or you can follow an iFit personal trainer as they lead you on a workout.
These trainers can adjust your speed and incline to push you further, though you can readjust your speed and incline if it is a little beyond your current skill level. Along with the pre-made workout programs, you can create and save your own workout programs to your user profile. That way, if you have specific training in mind, your Pro 5000 treadmill can be prepped to hold the workouts you need to reach your goals.
- Max Weight Limit
Since treadmills are effective tools to help with weight loss, having a generous weight limit is an important quality for treadmills to have and it’s what the Pro 5000 provides. A person who weighs up to 300 pounds can use this treadmill and have it be part of their weight loss plan.
- 3.75 CHP Motor
To power you through whatever type of workout you are doing, whether you are doing a walking workout with iFit or going on a long run during your marathon training, the Pro 5000 treadmill motor can power you through it. This motor is a 3.75 CHP Mach Z commercial pro motor, and it can output plenty of power.
However, don’t mistake power for noisy. In fact, the Pro 5000 is one of the quietest treadmills, which is especially surprising for such a big and powerful treadmill. But it is quiet as you use it, so for those looking for a treadmill that can deliver power without sounding overpowering, the Pro 5000 is a great option.
- Great Warranty
There is a great warranty that accompanies your purchase of the Pro 5000 treadmill. With this treadmill’s warranty, you are covered for 5 years when you need replacement parts and have 2 years worth of covered labor. The cherry on top is the lifetime warranty coverage of the frame and motor. With this kind of warrantied coverage, you can feel confident as you use your Pro 5000 treadmill.
- Plenty Of Exercise Programs
You don’t just have the iFit membership programs to get you through your workouts. This treadmill comes equipped with no less than 50 different exercise programs! Among these programs are incline workouts, ones that focus on calorie burning, speed workouts to help you get faster, high-intensity exercise programs to get you toned faster, as well as mixed workouts that target several types of exercise in one.
These programs will remain available to you even if you decide that you don’t want to continue your iFit membership after the trial year ends.
- Quality Treadmill Belt
If you have felt cramped or crowded on a treadmill before, then you need the Pro 5000. When you have this treadmill to workout on, you can enjoy plenty of room to move, as the treadmill belt measure 22” wide and 60” long. With this amount of running space, you should be able to feel comfortable maxing out your stride.
- EasyLift Assist
Even though the Pro 5000 treadmill is a big treadmill, you can save on space with the handy EasyLift Assist feature that comes with this machine. When you are done using this treadmill, you can simply lift up the treadmill deck and lock it into the upright folded position just by lifting high enough to hear the automatic lock engage.
To release the deck for a workout, just push up a bit as you press the locking mechanism. The deck will release, and you can step back and allow it to go down. Without any help from you, the treadmill deck will go down gently.
- Speed
You can reach 12 miles per hour on the Pro 5000 or go as slow as 0.5. Obviously, you can also access the speed levels in between these two extreme ends of the speed spectrum. With this range of speeds available, you should be able to do most walking and running workouts without an issue.
- Incline Range
Increase the difficulty and calorie burn of your workouts on the Pro 5000 treadmill when you use the incline range that goes from -3% decline to 15% incline. By using the incline range available on this machine, you can simulate more realistic outdoor running and keep your body challenged as well as your muscles better engaged in your treadmill workout.
- ProShox Cushioning
As mentioned above, ProShox cushioning can help significantly protect your joints, muscles, and bones as you walk and run on the Pro 5000. Many other outdoor runners have their fitness routine interrupted by sore muscles, tender feet, and more serious injuries such as hairline fractures in their feet and leg muscles.

One of the main benefits of choosing to have a treadmill in your home is the convenience of working out. But when you have a great treadmill at home like the ProForm Pro 5000, you have easy access to fantastic exercise all within the comfort of your own home.
Your home treadmill won’t judge if you need to walk mid-workout, and you don’t have to put any extra travel time in to reach your home treadmill as opposed to going to a gym. How do you turn the volume down on the proform 5000
Kristen Nelson says
There is a volume button on the console to turn up and down the volume.
Angela P says
Is this model still available? I checked website and they list proform 9000 with different specs for motor, etc.
Kristen Nelson says
Currently, the Pro 5000 does not appear on ProForm’s website. We don’t know if they are phasing it out completely, or if they are redesigning it and will bring it back in the future. For right now, the Pro 2000 is a good option for walking, jogging and light running and the Pro 9000 is better if you plan to run more often or have multiple users.
Dennis says
Can you provide a comparison of the new Pro 9000(22″ display) vs the Nordictrack C1750? All the comparisons on the web have been between the Pro 9000(10″ display) model vs the C1750. Thanks
Kristen Nelson says
Dennis,
The Pro 9000 is better if you plan to walk or jog and want a larger touchscreen. The 1750 is better for running and distance training but the screen is smaller.
