Best Treadmills Under $2000 | A Step Up in Quality

The Sole F80 Treadmill is an excellent option if you’re looking for a durable treadmill with firm cushioning that includes training and streaming content. The 3.5 HP motor is capable of handling distance running. The deck is also spacious at 22″ wide and 60″ long to work well for most people. It also doesn’t hurt that lifetime warranties from Sole back the frame and motor.

The F80 has a nice amount of tech and included content on the 10″ touchscreen. In addition to onboard workout programs, there are fitness tests, custom settings, and a manual mode to hop on and go. Our favorite onboard workouts are the Sole+ video workouts included with the Sole F80 for free. The Sole+ app includes workouts for strength and other cardio machines, too.

When you’re working out, you can watch movies, TV shows, and videos from 12 preloaded streaming apps, such as Netflix, Hulu, and YouTube. Screen mirroring is also available, and there is a wireless charging pad for your phone. All of this is available without an additional subscription price.

Even though the Sole F80 weighs around 274 lbs, it can be moved around pretty easily. There are four transportation wheels, so you can push it around when the deck is folded upright. The gas shock helps you lift and lower the deck. The Sole F80 also has a nice weight limit of 350 lbs, which should work for most people.

We suggest looking into the Sole F80 Treadmill if you want a high-quality treadmill with many streaming options and a heavy-duty deck and motor. This one is an excellent treadmill for under $2000.

The Horizon 7.8 AT has a fast-adjusting 4.0 HP motor, making it ideal for high-intensity interval training. The console has the workout program Sprint 8, so you’re all set for HIIT training. The console features Quick-Dial control buttons for the speed and incline that are at your fingertips to adjust the treadmill quickly and efficiently so you’ll never miss a second of work or rest.

The Horizon 7.8 AT is a well-built treadmill. The motor is powerful enough to handle a lot of use, and the deck is suitable for all strides at 22″ wide x 60″ long. The cushioning isn’t too soft or too firm. The 3-Zone Variable Response Cushioning provides excellent shock absorption to lessen the impact on your joints. It also handles most people up to 375 lbs.

The 7.8 AT is a big treadmill, but its folding deck makes it great for many homes. Moving is challenging, but there are two front wheels to help you move it when needed. The Horizon 7.8 AT offers nice variable training options with a 12 mph max speed range and a 15% deck incline. The frame and motor have a lifetime warranty to help instill confidence in this quality treadmill.

The Horizon 7.8 AT often gets overlooked due to its construction, but we couldn’t be happier with its performance. It has quickly become a favorite around our studio. Although we recommend the Horizon 7.8 AT for interval training, this one is a great addition to any home with the need and space for a powerful, quick-adjusting treadmill.

Another NordicTrack model in this price range is the EXP 10i. This treadmill is at the top of the EXP Series, which is NordicTrack’s more affordable lineup of treadmills. The NordicTrack EXP 10i is enabled with iFIT, and it has some great features that pair well with the subscription content.

The 10″ touch screen is better than the EXP 7i for using iFIT. iFIT is one of the best training platforms out there, and we love it because of the vast library of over 17,000 classes and counting. The outdoor classes are filmed in areas on every continent to guide you through remote areas and cities worldwide.

Several classes comprise series and challenges where you can take a group of classes with the same focus, filmed in the same area with the same instructor. These are great for progressing your fitness over a few weeks or months. iFIT has released holiday and race-themed series that we greatly enjoy.

One of my favorite iFIT features is the AutoAdjust Technology, which adjusts the treadmill during the workout to match the instructor’s cues and the terrain of the location where it takes place. You can adjust the treadmill yourself, and the console’s layout on the EXP 10i makes this easy using the numbered buttons on either side of the screen to change speed and incline.

This treadmill has nice training options, such as a 10 mph max speed and a 12% incline range. Paired with a 3.0 HP motor, the training specs make the EXP 10i a good walking, jogging, and light running treadmill.

Although it is a compact treadmill, the ProForm Carbon Pro 2000 is large enough for most users to run on. It comes with a 20″ x 60″ deck that we have found sufficient for users of pretty much all running strides. It also has a 3.0 CHP motor to handle running. The motor is quiet except for when the incline adjusts.

The Carbon Pro 2000 is rated for users up to 350 lbs. Regarding its training capabilities, the ProForm Carbon Pro 2000 offers a 12% incline and a 12 mph max speed. The deck cushioning is firm but with more give than training outside.

The Carbon Pro 2000 includes a 10″ touchscreen and the option to stream from iFIT with a subscription. It also features AutoAdjust Technology for automatic adjusting. Kaleigh’s favorite feature is ActivePulse technology, which adjusts the treadmill speed to keep you in a set heart rate zone when paired with a compatible monitor.

We like the Carbon Pro 2000’s training options and size. It is compact enough to take up less space in your home while accommodating runners of most sizes. The deck also folds up with lift assistance to give you more room. Even though the ProForm weighs about 249 lbs (in the box) and is a substantial treadmill, its two transportation wheels make rolling it around easier.

I love how Echelon addresses one of the most challenging problems for treadmill owners: storage. Not everyone has a dedicated home gym to leave their treadmill unfolded. Yet, even folding treadmills can be bulky eyesores. The Echelon Stride-6s folds flat for horizontal or vertical storage using their Waterfall Open-Front Design.

One limitation of the Echelon Stride-6s is its weight. I have trouble lifting the bulky treadmill to its vertical position. Some exercisers may need help getting it to its upright position for storage. There are wheels for rolling the treadmill when it’s upright and when it is horizontal; these are super helpful.

The Stride-6s requires an Echelon membership. You cannot purchase the treadmill without signing up for one, and the features are so limited without one that I do not recommend this treadmill for walkers and runners who won’t subscribe. However, it’s a great option for exercisers who want live and on-demand studio classes.

The classes are guided by Echelon coaches and backed by themed music radio. There are also entertainment options available on the Stride-6s, so you aren’t limited to the classes if you want more options. It has social media, entertainment streaming, and gaming apps. There is also the Echelon Worlds virtual running game, which is kind of like Zwift.

The Echelon Stride-6s is perfect for a walker or runner who wants the subscription training of a NordicTrack or Peloton Tread but doesn’t have the space for it.

The Xterra TRX5500 Treadmill has a foldable frame that pairs well with four transportation wheels for easier moving. Although the TRX5500 is large enough to support most running strides, it folds up to be compact, storable, and movable when needed. The deck uses an assist to lift it more easily, and when unlocked, it lowers to the floor on its own.

The TRX5500 has a 10.1″ touch screen, onboard workouts, and preloaded streaming apps like Netflix and YouTube. You can also mirror content from your phone on the screen for more entertainment options. The Xterra+ app has even more training options included with your purchase. We love everything included without an additional subscription fee.

Along with the folding deck, convenient moving, and integrated tech features, the Xterra TRX5500 has a 3.25 HP motor and a 20″ wide and 60″ long deck, making it good for walking and running and light to moderate use. The cushioning is also pretty firm underfoot, so it feels more similar to running outside on concrete while still offering shock absorption for your joints.
