I don’t think my muscles have ever felt so relaxed and at ease since we started testing all kinds of massage guns. The latest massage gun we are checking out is the C2 Massage Gun from Bob and Brad. Bob and Brad are “the most famous physical therapists on the internet”, as they say. With a growing 4.2 million followers on Youtube, we agree. Why You Should Trust Our Review Of The Bob And Brad C2 Massage Gun

How you tend to your muscles before and after a workout is just as important as when you’re working them during a workout. Our team works out a lot, so we’re always eager and excited to try out recovery equipment. We use all kinds of massage guns, so we’re able to refer to our arsenal whenever we get in a new one to test.

When testing the Bob and Brad C2 Massage Gun, we compared it to the Theragun Pro and Mini, NordicTrack PulseTech Percussion Therapy Gun, and the Bob and Brad X6 Pro, Q2 Mini, and T2 Massage Guns. This way we can inform you on exactly how the C2 compares to others on the market, as well as the others from Bob and Brad.

Pros
  • It’s a well-powered and high-quality, yet affordable massage gun.
  • At only 1.5 lbs it is very lightweight in your hands, plus it is extremely quiet to use pretty much everywhere.
  • There are 5-speed settings that range from 2000 RPMs up to 3200 RPMs.
  • Included are 5 different attachment heads to target your muscles and work for different areas of your body.
  • It comes with a hard case that holds everything including the 5 attachments.
  • It has a 35 lb stall force, so you can put a good amount of force behind it.
Cons
  • It has a low 8 mm amplitude, so it doesn’t penetrate very deep into your muscles.
  • The battery is built into the massage gun so you have to charge the entire gun when it dies, instead of removing it and replacing it with another battery while charging.

Bob & Brad C2 Massage Gun Review

In-depth Review of Bob And Brad C2 Massage Gun

Construction

The first thing we noticed about the Bob and Brad C2 Massage Gun, is that it’s lightweight at 1.5 lbs, and it feels really nice in your hands. The texture on the handle feels luxurious and makes it feel high-end, even though it usually costs around or just under $100. While it’s not the most powerful massage gun that we’ve used, if you’re looking for that then head over to our Theragun Pro review, but it gets the job done. Those looking for an affordable, yet high-quality percussive device should get a lot of use out of the Bob and Brad C2.

Bob and Brad C2 Massage Gun in case

We are impressed with everything that it comes with, too.

Motor

The C2 has an extremely quiet, brushless motor. It’s so quiet that we believe it can be used pretty much anywhere. When using it in our office, we were able to have conversations among our team with it running at the highest setting.

We do just recommend it for personal use. It isn’t intended for commercial use like the Theragun Pro. In fact, it has a “smart chip” that is built-in and designed to automatically power it off after ten minutes. Bob and Brad include this to avoid overusing it and causing harm to your body. We also don’t recommend using massage guns for more than ten minutes at a time.

The motor has a 35 lb stall force which is the amount of pressure you can apply on the massage gun before the motor stalls and turns off. We don’t suggest actively trying to stall the motor, because it could cause damage over time. This amount of force is similar to the Bob and Brad T2 and Q2 Mini massage guns. The T2 has a 44 lb stall force and the Q2 Mini has a 32 lb stall force. It isn’t the hefty 60 lbs that the Theragun Pro can handle, but at this price, we don’t expect that. The Theragun Pro is considered the gold standard of massage guns.

Amplitude

We were a little disappointed with the amplitude on the C2. This is the amount that the head of the massage gun digs into your muscles. It only has an 8 mm amplitude, which is considered to be on the lower end of amplitudes. 10 mm is more common and found on the T2 and X6 Pro Massage Guns from Bob and Brad. When compared to these models, you can tell a difference.

Bob and Brad C2 Massage Gun Bicep

The C2 is still able to provide effective tension relief to your muscles.

Handle

The overall design and handle on the Bob and Brad C2 is pretty standard, compared to other massage guns on the market. When I first picked up the C2, I couldn’t help but notice how nice the coating on the handle is. It has a silky feel which makes the massage gun look and feel high-end. Other massage guns from Bob Brad like the T2, X6 Pro, and even the Q2 Mini have the same coating on the handles.

Bob and Brad C2 Massage Gun in hand

The coating lets you keep a good grip because it isn’t slippery.

The handle is also slim enough for me to wrap my fingers around and it is not perfectly round. It is more of an oval shape, so it fits well in your hand. For the most part, this handle works just fine to reach all areas of my body, even my back which can be difficult.

Percussion Settings

The Bob and Brad C2 Massage Gun has 5 built-in percussion settings. The percussions per minute go from 2000 RPMs at the lowest setting, to 2300, 2600, 2900, and 3200 RPMs at the highest setting. In comparison, the Therabody Massage Guns go from 1750 percussions per minute up to 2400. So, the C2 moves at a faster rate to provide its percussive therapy. We like that there are 5 different speeds to choose from.

Attachments

Bob and Brad C2 Massage Gun Attachment Heads

We are very pleased to see that the C2 Massage Gun comes with 5 different attachments.

The attachments each have different shapes and purposes so you can switch them out when working on specific muscle groups and areas of your body. Swapping them out is easy. You just push them in the silver opening and pull them out to remove them.

Ball Head

The Ball Head attachment is probably the most commonly used, at least for me. Bob and Brad suggest it for larger muscle groups, and I find that it’s sufficient for use on most areas of my body. It’s round with a gritty texture. It is pretty firm as well, so it probably won’t be best for smaller muscle groups and tender areas.

Bullet Head

The Bullet Head is the smallest attachment. On their website, Bob and Brad recommend it for joints, palms, soles, trigger points, and deep tissue massage. Because of its size, it is great for targeting those specific areas, however, it provides more of an impact than the Ball Head.

Fork Head

The Fork Head is shaped like an upper case y. Bob and Brad suggest it for use on the neck, spine, and Achilles. The tip has two spots that provide a good amount of impact, and it feels firm like the Bullet Head.

Flat Head

I was surprised by how the Flat Head feels when using it. It is a round, firm plastic piece that is flat at the top – hence the name. I’m able to use it all over my body and that is what Bob and Brad say it’s intended for.

Air Cushion Head

Aside from the Ball Head, the Air Cushion Head is probably my favorite. It’s about as round as the Ball Head, but it’s flatter on the top. It has a rubber coating that has some give when you push on it. This head is best for sensitive areas, but I found it to be sufficient for total body use. If you’re new to percussive therapy, I would start with this attachment.

Functionality & Performance

Our team is pleasantly surprised with the Bob and Brad C2 Massage Gun. Even though the amplitude is on the lower end for massage guns at only 8 mm, the high percussion settings help to effectively massage your muscles. The C2 is best for those new to percussive therapy and for those who want a high-quality affordable massage gun. If you are looking to get a little deeper into your muscles, the Bob and Brad T2 is also a great option.

Bob and Brad C2 Massage Gun on back

I can reach my back while using the C2, even though it is pretty compact.

The C2 Massage Gun is best only used for up to 10 minutes at a time. When we tested the auto timer which shuts the C2 off after 10 minutes, it worked pretty much down to the second. The silver piece that holds the attachments was a little warm though. I think the built-in timer is also designed to help the massage gun from overheating. You can turn the C2 back on and keep using it after ten minutes, however.

When you’re using it for short periods of time, the battery lasts a long time. The battery is built-in, so the massage gun has to be plugged in and not used while charging though. This isn’t a huge down point, especially considering how short of time you’ll most likely use the massage gun.

Bob and Brad C2 Massage Gun Charger

While we do like that it has a USB charger, I wish it came with a wall adapter to plug it into an outlet.

Fortunately, I have plenty for charging my phone, but I’m known to lose them so an included one would be nice.

Bob and Brad C2 Massage Gun Case

For portability, the Bob and Brad C2 comes with a hard carrying case, as do their other massage guns.

This case is very similar to Theragun Pro’s, just smaller. The C2’s case is a hard shell that zips up with a handle at the top. Every component has a place so it all stays secure within the case. This way, you can take the C2 on the go if needed. If not, you’ll have one place to keep everything for the C2.

Warranty

Bob and Brad include a 1-year limited warranty when you purchase the C2.

Bob & Brad C2 Massage Gun Review

Bottom Line Review: Bob And Brad C2 Massage Gun

The Bob and Brad C2 Massage Gun is a really great percussive tool at an affordable price. We are impressed by the quality, construction, and even the case it comes in. The C2 is very effective for warming up and cooling down for workouts and muscle recovery in general. It comes with 5 different attachments that are all designed to target your body differently. The overall design is pretty standard to other massage guns on the market, so it will allow most users to reach every area of their body. The amplitude is pretty low at 8 mm but with a high 2000 – 3200 RPMs range, the C2 can help relieve sore muscles. It isn’t the most powerful massage gun, even in Bob and Brad’s collection, but it gets the job done at a really unbeatable price.
